Why not hire one of our special boats for a private visit along the meandering Chobe River. There’s a minimum charge for six guests…and we take up to 10 per boat (minimum 2 per departure.) This enables you to experience this outer edge of the 11,700 square-kilometre Chobe National Park at your own pace – stopping wherever you like, for as long as you like.

If it’s birding you’re into, our expert guide will tailor-make your visit to suit your ‘twitching wishes’. Birding is virtually incomparable and at various times of the year you can observe large numbers of carmine bee-eaters, spoonbills, ibis, various species of storks, ducks and other waterfowl that proliferate in the area.

Common wild animal sightings can include the African painted dog (wild dog), blue wildebeest, Cape buffalo, civet, giraffe, hyena, leopard, puku (a rare type of antelope), tsessebe, zebra and much more. The Chobe River, that flows along the north- east border of the park, is a major watering spot for large breeding herds of elephant, as well as families of antelope and Cape Buffalo.
‘Doing your own thing’ with your own group appeals to many of our guests.
